Introducing Amiah Gabaldon (junior) and Megan Mason (senior) as our new cheer captains of the 2018-19 cheer season. These two girls have worked their way to the top to become great role models on the floor and around campus.
As captains, Megan and Amiah assist our coach with things such as chant lines, stunt sequences, and choreography. They have been super helpful and make sure everyone is comfortable and can keep up as a team.
Megan Mason is enjoying her bittersweet last year on varsity cheer. She has been cheering since 6th grade and it has definitely paid off. With every event through senior year coming up, Megan is excited to see how much her teammates will grow individually and as a whole.
“My senior year is going smooth so far,” Megan said.
Megan is also really excited to end her high school career with her best friend, Nadia, who is also a senior. She is looking forward to football season and making memories with everyone before they all go off their separate ways. Over the years, Megan is happy to see how much her tumbling has improved since she has started and how confident she has gotten overall.
Amiah Gabaldon has been a varsity cheerleader since her freshman year. She has also been cheering since 6th grade and has improved significantly since then. Being her junior year, she said, “it is going by just like any other year.”
Amiah has been able to accomplish a lot out of herself and is happy to see how much she has become over the years. For the season, she is excited for upcoming competitions and to see how we all work together.
These two girls have built a good foundation between them and the girls on the team. As a whole, we are excited to compete in our upcoming competitions. We have a really strong team and we all think we can bring all of skills and help each other out.
