The Owls wrestlers started their season with a home section meet against Maricopa High School and Paradise Valley High School. In this meet the Owls went 0-2 losing to Maricopa  15-60 and Paradise Valley 30-45.

After these two losses the Owls hit the wrestling room and put in a lot of work for their next meet against Sierra Linda High School and Verrado High School. In this meet the Varsity squad would go 1-1 winning against Verrado and losing to Sierra Linda. The JV/Freshman wrestlers also wrestled in this match, and went 2-0.

Then the Owls were supposed to go to the Wayne Hendershot Tournament, but it was cancelled. The next tournament the Owls would participate in is their Big Red Wrestling tournament. The first day of the tournament began with the Owls wrestlers winning all four of their matches. In the second day of the tournament the Owls would go 2-1 losing to Lake Havasu in the finals. The Owls wrestlers went 6-1 and placed second in their 7th annual tournament.

Days after the tournament the Owls would take on Carl Hayden, Camelback, and Betty H. Fairfax High School. In this section meet the Owls would go 3-0 winning all of their matches by 20 points or more. Varsity wrestler Jonathan Ortiz said ¨We have been working really hard in the wrestling room and it is showing on the mat.¨

With the Owls starting the season off 11-6 it shows all of the hard work that they have put in at practice. But the season is not over and with their next match not being for another month, they have a lot of room to grow and get better.
