The Lady Owls prepared all week to face their Tolleson rival. They were ready to prove they are better and they plan on going very far this season. Pitcher for the Lady Owls Neysa Mungia said, “I’m excited just being out there playing the sport, I just have passion for the game.” Mungia is only a junior and has so much motivation and trust in her team to accomplish the biggest goal of them all, to win, while having fun and getting better of course.

The girls have played one of their biggest games this season against Tolleson and the results were not what they were planning for, a hard fought 10-3 loss to Tolleson. The girls had a tough loss against the Lady Wolverines. “We need to work on starting off right and staying positive the whole game,” Mungia said. The girls were not excited after this game, but they needed to keep their heads up because they have another game and if they don’t focus, their win can be taken from them.

The Lady Owls game against a small Metro Tech team was just what they needed to build their confidence back up. A 16-2 win against the Lady Knights. This win was one to help get their minds back on track for the rest of the season, and ready to get back in the race to state. The Lady Owls better their record by getting a victory over the Lady Fighting Lobos, a 9-0 win.

The Owls next game is March 26th an away game against Independence, the Lady Patriots. A game Tuesday at 4. The Lady Owls are ready to take another win home. Go out and support your Lady Owls on their journey to state, you don’t want to miss out.
