Owls homecoming was filled with a lot of excitement throughout the day and the football game continued to carry that.
The Owls offense seemed to get right back on track after struggling for two weeks of running the football. This was established by hard running on Eiryon Ward, Jalen William-Fuller and Isaiah William’s part. All three backs seemed to be feeding off the crowds energy and most importantly, the offensive lines blocks that seemed to spring big holes. Tre Lewis also seemed to be rolling with great passes along with great field vision while scrambling.
Agua Fria’s defense came to play from their first snap on the field to their last. Constant pressure was in the QB’s face making it hard for the opposing team to get in a rhythm. Indy’s first score did not come until the second half where the Owls were leading 17-7.
The remainder of the game continued to have the Owls in front and was capped off with an amazing catch and run from junior Nicolas Murguia. Now folks, when I try and put this play in a way that you could see please understand that it does you no justice for how electric it was to actually watch it live. Tre Lewis scans the field and finds wide open Nic. Nic then plants his foot in the ground taking it up the Owls sideline and reaches the FIVE yard line where he then LEAPS over THREE defenders.
Owls win the game with the final score of 31-14.
